Our restaurant features contemporary art, exclusive design pieces, and atmospheric lighting- all intentionally selected to evoke a cozy, relaxing ambiance.
Bonboon is located inside Hotel Mercier, a historic building that once housed the community center Ons Huis - founded in 1891 by Hélène Mercier - and the headquarters of COC Netherlands, the world's oldest LGBTQ+ organisation.
This monumental building honors its legacy through a stunning Modern Regency-style renovation, thoughtfully preserving authentic architectural elements.
Bonboon opened in 2018 on KNSM Island and relocated to the Jordaan district in the summer of 2023. Driven by a deep passion for the environment, culinary creativity, and art, Bonboon continues to demonstrate that food can be both rich in flavour and kind to animals. Everything we serve is entirely vegan - from our dishes and drinks to all other products used.
